It’s 3am in the White House and the telephone rings—what do you do? Pres. Obama finally answered that campaign question yesterday. After 3 days of ignoring the election turmoil in Iran, he says that he “can’t be silent” but that’s exactly what he was really still is. He says that he is really “troubled” by the events but only half-heartedly responded to the situation with a few inadequate words.

Meanwhile, Obama has been doing important stuff like watching the NBA Championship and talking to a convention of doctors about health care. Forget the fact that a developing Nuclear power is up in the air over a fraudulent election, millions are rioting in the streets, and the demonstrators are being shot. “The United States should not interfere in the affairs of another sovereign nation”—I guess that even includes calling for fair elections and the safety of peaceful demonstrators.
