Honduras: …and Obama Actually Supports This Guy?

Crisis en Honduras

Last Thursday, Honduras’ (now ex-) president, Mel Zelaya, defied a Honduras Supreme Court ruling and tried to rewrite the constitution for his own permanent re-election—following in the footsteps of his buddy Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. The intent was to subvert the law and become a dictator for life.

Yet our Prez Obama continues to support this guy along with Chavez and Castro against the Hondurans who want to keep their democracy. What does Obama have against Democracy? Sounds like a ridiculous question until you look at his recent record of supporting and making friends with some of the world’s worst despots.

Obama says the coup in Honduras was ‘illegal’— but so was Zelaya’s efforts to overthrow the democracy and the future voting franchise of the people. Another case where Pres. Obama is completely wrong and on the wrong side.

Meanwhile, his buddy Hugo blames Obama and America for the coup—what a laugh–I only wish that was true. Our country under this administration no longer supports people around the world seeking freedom and democracy. Just ask the Iranians!
