A new Rasmussen poll shows that 54% of the country is against any of the current ObamaCare bills floating around in Congress and the Senate. But more importantly, 66% of independents don’t want any bill at all.

This leaves the Democratic leaders in a quandary. They have the votes to pass anything they want in Congress and will look rather inept if nothing comes of all the health care talk. However, if they pass a bill that alienates most of the country how will that figure into the mid-term elections when Congress and a lot of the Senate is up for election.

Last time they faced something like this was in 1994 and the GOP took Congress for the first time in 40 years.

The current leaders—especially Reid and Pelosi–are arrogant enough to totally disregard the people. The only hope for stopping this is if the individual Senators and Representatives disregard their leaders and decide to make their own career saving decisions.

During his speech at a National Press Club luncheon, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Democratic Congressman John Conyers (D-Mich.), questioned the point of lawmakers reading the health care bill.

“I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,’” said Conyers.

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”

ODS Expositor: This guy is suppose to be a ‘Democratic’  leader in Congress–a committee chairman? Meanwhile brilliant Congress Reps like Conyers keep on passing all of the bills pushed their way by Obama and Pelosi without really knowing what’s in them for sure? Wow! No wonder everything is so messed up.

But that doesn’t stop Conyers and his ilk from supporting Obama’s health care bill—what ever is in it? Is it really too much to expect the Congress to fully understand what is in a bill before they actually vote it into law? I don’t think so.

ODS Expositor: I believe her! She only is concerned about fulfilling her own radical liberal agenda which seems to be just fine with all the leftists that keep voting for her in San Francisco. First there is the strange case of SC Gov. Sanford who self destructed before our very eyes. A valiant Republican who was standing up and rejecting Obama’s supposed stimulus $, a possible GOP contender in 2012, only to go down for the count tripping over his own incredulous zipper.

Second comes the spectacle of a major network—ABC, with a storied past becoming an infomercial shill for Pres. Obama’s Healthcare debacle. Not only did the once venerable network show only one side of this issue, they even rejected paid ads that would show a contrary view. Rush is right—ABC has become part of Obama’s “State –Run Media”.

Third is worst of all—the spectacle of 8 turn-coat Republican Representatives voting in the huge tax increase and job killer-Obama/Pelosi’s Cap and Trade bill. That was a fitting end to a horrible week that was.

The only thing that made it even worse was waking up this morning and seeing Prez Obama cajoling the Senate to complete the dirty deed and foist the worst tax increase/ business and job killer ever in the midst of a severe recession—actually the results will be anti-stimulus and pro-recession. Over a million jobs could be lost and thousands in lost $ for every family in America.

I almost forgot–Fourth–Obama didn’t exactly support the Iranian people in their protest against their despotic leaders did he?

Oh yes, a very bad week indeed. The only thing that could be worse is if the Senate actually passes the Cap and Trade monstrosity next week.

Pelosi is trying to push it through before the public really finds out what the bill is all about and all of its ramifications–actually before the Congress can really read the darned 800+ pages.

This is the most insane legislation yet that this diabolical team has come up with!

Here’s our evaluation of the bill from a previous article:

If this bill is passed and signed by Obama, all of our energy bills will increase by $1,000’s per year, but also nearly every single thing made in the United States. Businesses will also end up paying more for their energy and the additional costs will be passed on to the consumers in the form of price raises on all products and services.

Results summarized:

1. Est. $3,100 per year increase in energy costs for family of 4.

2. Prices raises in all goods and services.

3. Coal industry will virtually be shut down.

4. Products made in America will be less competitive on the international market.

5. Tens of thousands perhaps 100’s of thousands in lost jobs.

All of this at a time when we are already in the midst of a huge recession—what next Pres. Obama, are you really trying to destroy the American economy—the best economy in the world? If not, you are sure doing a good job of it anyway. Is this the kind of change you folks out there voted for? Well thanks a lot!

ODS Expositor: Barack and Nancy are rolling the dice here hoping that their compliant MSM will ignore the story until they get this crazy *** passed. If they can keep regular folks from finding out about it and contacting their Congressional Reps, they figure that this is their best chance to get it done. A few months into his first term (and hopefully his last) Pres. Obama is demonstrating to us all that his radical liberal agenda and ideology are far more important to him than the American economy and regular people.

The Waxman (D-CA)/Markey (D-MA) “cap and trade” bill is making its way through Congress under the encouragement of the President. The bill is suppose to help address so-called ‘Global Warming’ but ends up destroying the economy instead—with little demonstrable results.

During the election campaign Obama had promised that his energy policies would increase everyone’s energy bill:

“under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

However, this really doesn’t begin to cover it. The banking industry is complaining that the legislation and new credit card regulations will actually deal them a financial blow on top of what they are already experiencing with the recession.

Some will say, so what –what does that mean to me? It’s hard to feel sorry for the banks.

Here’s what it will do you–Industry experts say that the bill will:

1. Make it harder to get credit cards

2. That the banks will extend less credit—the credit limits on cards will be far less than they have been.

3. The nation’s largest banks involved in the credit card business have warned that they will charge higher interest rates once the new rules are passed.

4. The banks say that they will begin to cancel the cards that aren’t regularly used.

5. They will also cancel many more that they consider as ‘credit risks’. It will be much harder for poor folk to get a card in the future.

6. Bonus, reward, and rebate programs will probably be suspended. There will no longer be enough profits in cards to support such programs in the future.

The end result is that as companies struggle to find new ways to remain profitable in the restricted environment, those with less income (poor and middle) and with lower credit scores will find it increasingly difficult to get credit cards and even keep the ones that they do have.

Remember to thank Pres. Obama and the Congress for their misguided ‘help’—but remember there are mid-term congressional elections coming in 2010!
