CNN got the poll results they wanted in response to Obama’s Health Care speech through cheating. But try as hard as they could to skew a poll (even giving the Demos a 11% margin) the ABC/WaPo guys weren’t even able to show a 50% support for the Presidents program.

Obviously, the speech did not succeed in changing opinion on the issue. Now it is obvious that no matter how hard the MSM cheats in polls to make it seem like Americans are supporting ObamaCare, it just isn’t happening.

Conclusions: ‘Blue Dog’ Demos beware, your congressional experience could be cut short if you support ObamaCare even though the folks back home are against it. As the famous movie line goes: “Make my day”

For once he was surprised –when the whole place roared in laughter after he said:

“there remains some details to be worked out”

No truer words were ever spoken, especially by this guy.

After 200+ speeches by Obama on ObamaCare in the last several months there was really nothing new in his speech before a joint session of congress tonight except Rep. Joe Wilson’s refreshing heckle:

“You Lie”

–After Prez Obama declared that the health care proposal would not provide health insurance for illegal immigrants.

We are with Joe Wilson on this one. Although the Congressional bill states that only citizens will be eligible, there is no procedure for checking eligibility nor any penalty for misuse by illegal aliens. Two amendments that would have closed those loopholes were rejected by the Democrats.

As it stands, illegals will no doubt apply for health care and there is no way to really stop them. Everyone in Congress knows this and Obama is being totally disingenuous on this issue and likewise on many others.

A controversial $3,800 fine for the uninsured is part of a Senate Health Care bill proposal called the ‘Baucus plan’ after its sponsor–Sen. Baucus (D) of Montana. But if you should ask Prez Obama he will tell you that this is “not part of my plan”.

When Obama was running for President against Hilary Clinton he clearly opposed fines that would force individuals to buy health insurance. However, at this juncture everything is on the table and old positions may no longer be valid as the Democrats in Congress and the Obama administration try to get it done.

Prez Obama has been critical of all the ‘townhall’ ObamaCare critics for the last month or so. He is constantly claiming that what ever folks are griping about are “not part of my plan”. Here is the dirty little secret that no MSM writer or news anchor will tell you:

1. Obama does not really have a plan!—he only has some campaign promises and rhetorical statements.

2. The only ‘real’ plan on paper that can be actually read are the bills and proposals in Congress and the Senate.

3. When it comes to his beautiful ObamaCare plan —the Prez is really ‘wearing no cloths’!—just like the fictitious emperor.

Therefore, when critics site page and verse from the mammoth 1,000+ page Congressional bill and Obama says that is “not part of my plan” he is entirely correct but totally disingenuous and deceptive.

Re: ABC and NBC– Fair and Balanced? I don’t think so!

These two TV networks have not only decided to support ObamaCare in their news programs and in Specials but have refused to air national ads that are critical and would balance out their one-sided treatment of the issue. Shame, shame on ABC and NBC, these networks have now shown their true liberal/political one-sided colors and are no longer worthy of our support. Obviously these networks are no longer reliable source for news.

They made fun of Gov. Palin when she suggested that ObamaCare included a provision for what she called –‘death panels’. But this is what happens when health care is put into the hands of a bunch of government bureaucrats with limited budgets. The VA already has a booklet that doctors are supposed to use in discussing end-of-life issues with their VA patients that may suffer from ‘quality of life’ issues.

Here is a video of Chris Wallace of Fox News discussing the VA program and the booklet: “Your Life, Your Choices” with Wall Street Journal’s Jim Towey and later debating the program with VA’s Tammy Duckworth:

Chris Wallace does an exceptional job here asking Duckworth to explain and defend the indefensible. Apparently doctors use the book to discuss end-of-life decisions with veterans with a variety of conditions—some of which are not terminal but face a diminished ‘quality of life’.

The major question here is—should the government be involved in ‘encouraging’ VA patients to seek a premature end to their life?

Prez Obama is caught in another lie about ObamaCare coverage. He is critical of opponents that say abortion is covered by the Congressional bill but progressive Factcheck.org confirms it.

A new Rasmussen poll shows that 54% of the country is against any of the current ObamaCare bills floating around in Congress and the Senate. But more importantly, 66% of independents don’t want any bill at all.

This leaves the Democratic leaders in a quandary. They have the votes to pass anything they want in Congress and will look rather inept if nothing comes of all the health care talk. However, if they pass a bill that alienates most of the country how will that figure into the mid-term elections when Congress and a lot of the Senate is up for election.

Last time they faced something like this was in 1994 and the GOP took Congress for the first time in 40 years.

The current leaders—especially Reid and Pelosi–are arrogant enough to totally disregard the people. The only hope for stopping this is if the individual Senators and Representatives disregard their leaders and decide to make their own career saving decisions.

Politics is the reason!

Trail lawyers and their lobbyist associations are among the largest contributors to the Democratic party and Democratic candidates including Barack Obama. So they are completely off limits.

lawsuits, Increased liability insurance for doctors, and additional protective procedures continue to bring increased cost to health care. Any real reform needs to include tort reform and everyone involved knows it and everyone also knows that it ain’t going to happen.

Again- politics is the reason!! 

So the next time you gripe about the increasing costs of health care and health insurance just remember that your friendly Democratic politicians made it all possible.

In the process of giving an example of why ObamaCare is needed, the Prez implied that Doctors amputated feet needlessly in order to collect a fat fee:

“…if a family care physician works with his or her patient to help them lose weight, modify diet, monitors whether they’re taking their medications in a timely fashion, they might get reimbursed a pittance. But if that same diabetic ends up getting their foot amputated, that’s $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 — immediately the surgeon is reimbursed. Well, why not make sure that we’re also reimbursing the care that prevents the amputation, right? That will save us money.”

Here he goes again just making stuff up this time at the expense of doctors. However The American College of Surgeons struck back with some inconvenient facts of their own:

When the President makes statements that are incorrect or not based in fact, we think he does a disservice to the American people at a time when they want clear, understandable facts about health care reform. We want to set the record straight.

Yesterday during a town hall meeting, President Obama got his facts completely wrong. He stated that a surgeon gets paid $50,000 for a leg amputation when, in fact, Medicare pays a surgeon between $740 and $1,140 for a leg amputation. This payment also includes the evaluation of the patient on the day of the operation plus patient follow-up care that is provided for 90 days after the operation.

There you have it, the Prez was suffering again from ‘foot in the mouth’ syndrome. Gee, maybe he should go to a surgeon for one of those amputations he was talking about—huh?
