In the process of giving an example of why ObamaCare is needed, the Prez implied that Doctors amputated feet needlessly in order to collect a fat fee:

“…if a family care physician works with his or her patient to help them lose weight, modify diet, monitors whether they’re taking their medications in a timely fashion, they might get reimbursed a pittance. But if that same diabetic ends up getting their foot amputated, that’s $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 — immediately the surgeon is reimbursed. Well, why not make sure that we’re also reimbursing the care that prevents the amputation, right? That will save us money.”

Here he goes again just making stuff up this time at the expense of doctors. However The American College of Surgeons struck back with some inconvenient facts of their own:

When the President makes statements that are incorrect or not based in fact, we think he does a disservice to the American people at a time when they want clear, understandable facts about health care reform. We want to set the record straight.

Yesterday during a town hall meeting, President Obama got his facts completely wrong. He stated that a surgeon gets paid $50,000 for a leg amputation when, in fact, Medicare pays a surgeon between $740 and $1,140 for a leg amputation. This payment also includes the evaluation of the patient on the day of the operation plus patient follow-up care that is provided for 90 days after the operation.

There you have it, the Prez was suffering again from ‘foot in the mouth’ syndrome. Gee, maybe he should go to a surgeon for one of those amputations he was talking about—huh?

Matthews made the statement during an exchange with Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell and the Wall Street Journal’s Stephen Moore in reference to the uproar at recent town hall meetings.

Do you trust this guy? Obama does—such incredible naiveté!

Wow, will they never learn? This gaffe is right up there with Bush’s ‘looking Putin in the eyes’ and Carter’s kiss on Brezhnev’s cheek.

Meanwhile, Russian Pres. Medvedev wants Obama to scrap the missile defense in Europe. Gee, I wonder what our guy will do? Knowing Prez Barack he’ll not only drop the shield but actually volunteer to pay Billions to help the Russians get rid of thousands of their all ready obsolete nuclear weapons—mark my words here!

Oh what I would give for another Reagan! Remember he walked away from Gorby at Reykjavík over a missile shield we hadn’t even developed yet. It turned out to be the beginning of the end for the Russian Communist regime.

Now we have a president who seems to be determined to help the Russians put it all back together again.

ODS Expositor: I have never heard anyone even claim that the U.S. is a Muslim country, forget being among the largest. Is this wishful thinking? Or another in a long line of so-called “teleprompter” gaffes? Probably the later.

Thursday was to be the highlight of the year for more than 100 kindergarteners from Conway Elementary in Stafford County, Va. They got up early and took a chartered bus to the White House then were turned away because Pres. Obama and his staff were getting ready to hang out with the NFL Superbowl Champion Pittsburg Steelers.

The Kids not only didn’t get to see the President but were even barred from the White House tour that they had planned for months to see but were slightly late for.  After all, a bunch of sniveling kids isn’t going to keep Obama from hanging out with the Steelers.

One parent observed:

"Here we have President Obama and his administration saying, ‘Here we are for the common, middle class people,’ and here he is not letting 150 5- and 6-year-olds into the White House because he’s throwing a lunch for a bunch of grown millionaires."

Only government bureaucrats would ever consider a cereal to be a drug, but that is what happened this week thanks to the Obama administration FDA.

The FDA this week sent a letter of warning to General Mills accusing them of making unauthorized health claims for their cereal–Cheerios. On the box the cereal company claims that the oat product can lower cholesterol in those who eat it over time.

The FDA takes the position that only drugs approved by them can make such claims. Regardless of whether company studies actually prove their claims or not, the FDA is requiring General Mills to take the boasts off of the boxes or submit the cereal for drug testing.
